Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work site environment: At heights. Work setting: Installation. Maintenance. Tasks: Complete and maintain test and service reports. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Read and interpret blueprints. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets. Inspect and test trunking systems. Inspect, test and repair cable signals and associated equipment. Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access. Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems. Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers. Splice, join and connect wires. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Handling heavy loads. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
