Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Trans-border documentation. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated. Tractor-trailer. Transportation/travel experience: International. Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Valid passport. Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Medical exam. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
