Invites applications for Permanent Part time Payroll Assistant <p> Location: <p> GSSD - Central <p> Assignment/Contract: <p> 0.9 FTE -Permanent Part time with possible increase to 1.0 FTE in future <p> Salary: <p> In accordance with the current board approved Out-Of-Scope Salary Grid <p> Contact Details: <p> Raquel Spilchuk - Payroll/HR Manager <p> raquel.spilchuk@gssd.ca <p> 306-786-5546 <p>The Good Spirit School Division is currently seeking a Payroll Assistant to primarily handle bus driver payroll, including both regular and substitute drivers. Additional responsibilities include managing employee benefits, accrual maintenance, support staff pension administration, 12 pay support staff payroll, data entry, filing, and other assigned duties. The Payroll department consists of a dedicated team responsible for processing payroll for approximately 1100 employees monthly, handling tasks such as calculations, maternity leaves, terminations, record of employment, T4s, benefit enrollment, remittance submissions, and addressing employee queries.<p>Schedule : Dependent on departmental and operational needs, within Board Office hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will report directly to the Payroll/HR Manager.<p>Term : To commence on April 15, 2024, or by mutual agreement.<p>Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, accompanied by a diploma/certificate in Accounting/CPA or related post-secondary program.Competencies : Conscientious: Demonstrates care, dependability, and self-discipline.<p> Strong Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and computer skills.<p> Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.<p> Adaptability: Flexible and able to adjust to change.<p> Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and strong mathematical skills.<p> Professionalism: Represents the school division with a positive and businesslike demeanor.<p> Confidentiality: Handles sensitive payroll and HR information with discretion.<p> Organization: Strong ability to prioritize and organize tasks with minimal supervision.<p> Experience: Previous payroll experience or related field experience considered an asset.Responsibilities and Duties: Calculation of salary and benefits.<p> Data entry into computerized payroll systems.<p> Providing assistance to the Payroll Supervisor.<p> Additional duties as outlined in the Job Description Payroll Assistant document available on our website.<p>Salary and Benefits :<p> As per the Out of Scope Salary Schedule ($52,416-$63,553 range per annum, dependent on qualifications and based on 100% FTE) and Out of Scope Benefit Plan.<p>Interviews will be conducted upon application.
