*The Job*
* Tripshepherd invites dynamic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Marine Operations Manager, focusing on our exhilarating Jet Boat Operations in Saint John, NB. Our mission is to provide unforgettable experiences by offering small group and private jet boat tours that explore the Saint John Rapids.
* As a key member of our management team, you will drive the strategic direction, development, and execution of operational policies and procedures for this thrilling line of business. Your role includes team leadership, strategic decision-making, boat captaining, and contributing to our culture of high morale and performance.
* Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in management or leadership roles, with a keen insight into financial management and operational efficiency.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead the development and enhancement of training materials and guides for the Jet Boat Operations, ensuring alignment with Tripshepherd's standards of service, quality, and integrity.
* Coach, mentor, and train staff, promoting adherence to our policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
* Collaborate with administrative teams to guarantee seamless daily operations.
* Spearhead problem-solving initiatives related to the jet boat operation while improving operational procedures
* Deliver weekly and annual reports to senior management, highlighting progress and identifying opportunities for operational enhancements.
* Manage records related to staff, jet boat maintenance, and essential documents, ensuring organization and accessibility.
* Oversee the implementation of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) for the fleet, monitoring all jet boat operational activities.
* Ensure the Safety and Quality Management System is effectively implemented and resourced.
* Verify that all jet boats are fully certified and compliant with applicable regulations, maintaining necessary documentation.
* Identify and adhere to relevant guidelines, codes, regulations, and standards, ensuring compliance in all operational tasks.
* Coordinate emergency response actions, preparing and training staff for any situation.
*Qualifications & Experience*
* 2 Years? Experience in Marine Operations, specifically with jet boats preferred.
* Proven safety leadership skills and an exemplary safety record.
* Independence in initiative-taking, decision-making, and developing recommendations.
* Certifications in Marine Emergency Duties, Transport Canada Marine Medical, H2S Alive, Marine First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, and Vessel Personnel with Security Responsibilities are highly desirable
* Extensive knowledge of the marine transportation industry, particularly in jet boat operations, with proficient use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and public speaking skills to effectively lead the team and interact with all stakeholders.
* Trade Certificate or College Diploma in a related field.

* Bilingualism in English and French is highly preferable.
