We are hiring for a Principal at Cando School in Cando, SK. This is a Permanent Full-Time position commencing at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. <p>Candidates will be strong at building relationships with staff, students and their families and our community. Individuals will believe in the importance of having trauma-informed classrooms. Honouring Indigenous teachings and diversity to promote a culture of respect is important. Leadership experience around differentiation and interventions to meet the needs of each individual would be considered an asset. Living Sky School Division believes that school-based administrators play key roles in student success. It will be important for candidates to be able to: Lead Learning (Instructional Leadership),<p> Set Vision and Provide Direction,<p> Secure Caring and Respectful Schools,<p> Develop People and Build Relationships,<p> Strengthen the Educational Community (through working with parents and other agencies), and<p> Embrace a culture of change improvement for leading edge resultsApplicants are required to possess a Masters Degree in Education or be committed to completing post-graduate studies in an applicable field. Additionally, they must be eligible for or possess a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate.<p>Cando Community School <p>Cando Community School is located in the Hamlet of Cando. Our school has a Kindergarten to Grade 12 program, attended by students from the Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding areas. We are looking for a teacher who is skilled and adept at bringing First Nations history to all curricula through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens. This special candidate should be able to differentiate instruction in an alternative learning environment and be able to build relationships with students to provide meaningful connections to the curriculum for them. They should also be an advocate for student needs, finding innovative and creative ways to include student voice in school decision-making structures. Organization and flexibility are highly valued. T he proposed alternate Cando Community School calendar for this upcoming year has 14 additional Fridays that are non-workdays, allowing for several 4-day workweeks throughout the year.
