Highschool English Teacher (Term<p>Contract 1.0 Position) The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA)<p>is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First<p>Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet<p>Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total<p>student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working<p>toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology,<p>progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom<p>and school curriculum. The ADEA is seeking a competent, confident, motivated individual to fill<p>the position of a Highschool English Teacher on a term contract (with<p>the potential of going on a full-time permanent contract) at Father Megret High School<p>(FMHS),<p>located in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan. In this role, you will<p>provide strong interpersonal skills, commitment to learning and teaching in<p>project-based ways and provide an enthusiastic learning environment for<p>students. FMHS is a Grade 6 to 12 facility with a student population of 300+ with<p>a strong group of professional and paraprofessional staff.This<p>competition is open to all applicants who reside in Canada; and preference will<p>be given to First Nation or other Indigenous applicants who possess the<p>qualifications, knowledge, and skills to meet the minimum suitability<p>requirements as stated for the position.What We<p>Offer: <p>We offer paid time off such<p>as professional development and non-instructional days, and sick days, benefits<p>that include vision, dental, massage, acupuncture, etc., the companys<p>registered pension plan benefit, and northern allowance. We also provide housing<p>with no rent payments and pay travel expenses, and you will be surrounded by<p>leaders and colleagues that want the best for each student and their learning<p>and well-being.Key<p>Accountabilities and Responsibilities: <p> <p>Establish<p>clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate in the<p>context of the Denesuline culture and language.<p> <p>Provide<p>positive ways for classroom environment that is conducive to learning and<p>appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.<p> <p>Develop<p>and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of all students.<p> <p>Plan<p>and organize materials ahead of time.<p> <p>Assess<p>and document student learning daily.<p> <p>Assess<p>and maintain student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.<p> <p>Participate<p>in professional development, staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and<p>other school related activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <p> <p>Must be patient, flexible, observant, and<p>passionate. <p> <p>Must have communications skills such as:<p>verbal and nonverbal, active listening, and empathy.<p> <p>Must have strong understanding of the<p>following programs and assessments: Effective Practices, Policies and<p>Guidelines; Saskatchewan Curriculum. <p> <p>To follow the provincial Ministry of<p>Education curricula and focuses on holistic child development including the<p>social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual domains. <p> <p>Actively engage with families, children,<p>and community members to understand their backgrounds and experiences to<p>support an equitable and inclusive school environment.<p> <p>Ability to work effectively with<p>admi
