Sidewalks and curbs. Tasks: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures. Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces. Type of materials: Light weight concrete. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Sound discrimination. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
