Job details
PipeCom is looking for Commissioning Engineers to join our dynamic team of problem solvers! This is a contract role for diverse construction projects, with the following features:
* Diverse energy and infrastructure projects
* Field position, with locations across Canada (all provinces, not limited to Alberta)
* Disciplines: electrical, instrumentation & controls, or protection & control (several positions and disciplines will be required)
Responsibilities:
* Lead commissioning activities for one of the listed disciplines to ensure systems are delivered in conformance with the contract scope, specifications, and IFC drawings.
* Preparation of system specific commissioning plans and procedures that align with technical standards, contractual specifications and IFC/redline drawings.
* Plan and coordinate commissioning activities and manage completion of commissioning by third party contractors, client field operations, and others.
* Create commissioning and energization procedures for the equipment.
* Perform field review and witness commissioning testing to meet field review requirements.
* Identify and troubleshoot technical issues found during commissioning activities.
* Review submitted ITPs from vendors for technical and contractual compliance.
* Collaborate with Construction Management on the completion of consolidated ITPs for all equipment, systems, and sub-systems (as required).
* Support the development of isolation requirements if required, and collaborate with field operations for equipment and system specific isolation and testing.
* Update and document all testing and commissioning results in the EDMS.
* Support development of equipment and system fit for service and completion deliverables for handover to operations.
* Proactively anticipate, identify, and assist with the mitigation of commissioning and in service tasks.
* Provide safety leadership, monitoring and planning for the team.
* Plan and implement mandatory reliability standards compliance activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
* Minimum 5 year experience as commissioning engineer
* Willing to obtain a Permit to Practice (P.Eng.)
* Discipline specific equipment design and testing experience
* Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards
* Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software
* MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skill
