BLUEWATER DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD <p>INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR TEMPORARY SECONDARY LANDING SUCCESS TEACHER The Landing Success program provides a dynamic opportunity for students that is delivered by an educator who is committed to creating an engaging environment that helps students to develop and apply their skills in an exciting way. Landing Success provides Grade 8, 9, and 10 Indigenous students with additional support by offering the opportunity to obtain a credit in PAD1O or PAD2O, Healthy Living and Outdoor Activities.Those who have completed this program in the past can also demonstrate their leadership skills to obtain a Leadership and Peer Support open level credit, GPP3O. <p>REPORTS TO: Summer School Coordinator <p>DURATION:Full Credit: Commencing July 2, 2024, and ending August 2, 2024, for a complete credit.<p>Monday to Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in person.<p>REMUNERATION: $42.86 - subject to increase (inclusive of vacation and statutory pay, paid by timesheet) LOCATION: Aaron Roote Memorial Youth Centre, Saugeen First NationJOB DESCRIPTION: The Landing Success program is committed to providing quality education for every student in a safe and caring learning environment. As a Landing Success teacher, you will provide leadership and direct teacher support to students enrolled in these courses.<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<p> Provide instruction based on curriculum and support to students enrolled in secondary landing success course(s)<p> Assessment, evaluation, and reporting of student achievement in Landing Success course<p> Field trip booking, supervision, and implementation<p> Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:<p> A teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers<p> Health and Physical education qualifications preferred<p> Guidance and Career Education qualifications preferredASSETS:<p> Sound philosophy of education and strong working knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success, Learning for All, and the School Effectiveness Framework<p> An understanding of the Anishinaabe traditions and community<p> Experience using Office 365<p> Strong communication and classroom management skills<p> An understanding of effective learning, teaching, and assessment strategies<p> Excellent leadership and organizational skillsJOB REQUIREMENTS:<p> Eligible to work in Canada<p> Clean vulnerable sector police check<p> May require access to a reliable vehicle <p>ELIGIBILITY: <p>First Consideration: Applications from members of OSSTF District 7 Secondary Teachers Bargaining Unit<p>Second Consideration: All other applicants<p>All eligible interested applicants are encouraged to apply and will be considered should there be no fully qualified applicants. <p>APPLICATION PROCESS: Include document titled 'Last Name, First Name Experience' which includes the applicants OCT certificate and related teaching experience as well as any other relevant information. <p>We thank everyone for applying, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
