*LOCATION: *Burnaby, BC
We are looking for an *Assistant Controller* to join our Finance Team! Our Assistant Controller oversees the financial and accounting operations of Earth's Own Group and Agrifoods International Co-operative Ltd and subsidiaries and is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly financial statements. The Assistant Controller also prepares the financial statements of the subsidiaries and liaises with their accounting teams. Other duties include mentoring team members, evaluating and maintaining internal control, and assisting with the budgeting process.

*EXPERIENCE*
* You have an Accounting Designation: CMA, CGA, CPA or CA
* You have 3 to 5 years experience in a hands-on computerized accounting environment as a senior accountant or Assistant Controller
* You have Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment
*THINGS YOU WILL DO?*
* Work closely with the Controller to manage and coordinate the overall financial administration of multiple entities
* Ensure the timely preparation of month-end financial statements
* Produce reports, analysis and any summary information required by internal stakeholders
* Assisting with the annual budgets, forecasting, and all aspects of the year-end audit and tax compliance requirements
* Maintain various schedules such as fixed assets, amortization schedules, supporting schedules, and month- end adjusting entries
* Work closely with the accounts payable team and ensure the accuracy of expenditure
* Support the inventory and material costing process
* Work with cross-functional teams across all departments
* Assist in the implementation of a new ERP system in the coming months/years
* Complete government reports and tax remittances.
* Recommending improvements in processes and procedures
* Work directly with project teams to create and continuously refine project financial models and proformas.
* Source financial data and collects pertinent information from which to build a reliable project model (financial and project development due diligence and feasibility work).
* Manages and owns project proformas through all phases of the decision-making process.
* Develops and maintains strong working knowledge of each project from development and financial standpoint.
* Estimates new and proposed product costs and maintains Cost Accounting System.
* Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction- processing operations, and policies and procedures

Pay: $84,000.00-$103,000.00 per year
