Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation . Operate heavy equipment. Use International Organization for Standardization (ISO) pattern joystick controls. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Understand the purpose, proper usgage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS). Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Prepare accident reports. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Operate hydraulic pumping systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification. Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Type of heavy equipment operated: John Deere controls. Operate forklift. Equipment and machinery experience: Crane. Construction specialization: Roofing. Powered equipment repair specialization: Telescopic ladder. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel regularly. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Overtime required.
