Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Type of trucking and equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles). Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Trip recorder (on-board computer). Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. National. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Drive manual transmission vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel overnight.
