*MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK*
APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE SERVICES OF A FULL TIME MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK FOR THE ATHABASCA HEALTH AUTHORITY IN BLACK LAKE, SASKATCHEWAN.
*GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY*
The Medical Records Clerk reports to the Director of Primary Care Services or Health Information Management Consultant for Athabasca Health Authority. The Medical Records Clerk and is responsible for Protection and security of electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure that patient/client confidentiality is maintained and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure and do repetitive tasks. The Medical Records Clerk must be able to work with nurses, physician, lab & x-ray, paramedic, and other office staff on a daily basis.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Ensure patient/client charts, paperwork, and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
* Ability to maintain a well-organized and secure filing system.
* Keep all medical records confidential and protected.
* Good communication skills.
* Attention to detail so mistakes are easily spotted and corrected.
* Understanding of how hospitals and other medical clinics operate so that files are sent to the appropriate department.
* Scheduling patient/client medical appointments and speciality clinics.
* Complete clerical duties including answering phones, scanning, fax, typing and emails.
* Perform other related duties, as required.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* Grade 12.
* Medical Terminology.
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel.
* Fluency in the Denesuline language would be an asset and translate.
* Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
* Valid Class 5 Driver?s License.
