Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Determine weldability of materials. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Arrange for shipping, receiving and storage. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Conventional spray painting. Area of work experience: Project planning. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Structural construction. Factory assembly. Shipping and receiving. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Organized. Team player. Punctuality.
