Job details
Roles and Responsibilities of the job include: - Set up manual and CNC equipment- Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed- Identify root causes and actions for quality problems- Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauge and other equipment needed to complete job- Use prescribed procedures to produce parts and products to the customers specifications- Detect and report defective equipment to shop foreman- Maintain equipment and work area on a daily basis in a clean and orderly fashion- Follow prescribed rules and standard safety regulations at all times- Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: - Completed or enrolled in Machining course from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or equivalent- Knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance- Skill in performing mid level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, fractions and decimals)- Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as job cards, drawings, manuals and safety regulations- Ability to communicate information clearly and directly to co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing- Ability to adapt to change (positive or negative)- Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations- Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships- Ability to pay close attention to detail- Ability to operate a forklift- Machining experience is preferred
