SOFIA House has 1 position open for a full-time Women's Program Coordinator position, working 12-8pm Sunday through Thursday.
_Working with fellow Program Coordinators, Indigenous Relations Manager, and reporting to the Program Manager, the Women?s Program Coordinator will work with residents of SOFIA House, and their children who are fleeing interpersonal, and gender based violence. _
*Duties:*
* Following a trauma informed, and person centered approach to resident support.
* Provide support to women in second stage shelter settings via survivor led action planning and goal setting.
* Provide information, education, and support to women where they are at in their journey of healing.
* Attend in-house crises and navigate or communicate with appropriate emergency services (police, mobile crisis, etc.)
* Provide referrals and advocacy to ensure that residents have the necessary supports to navigate through various barriers
* Completing in-depth, and professional documentation via verbal and written communication, casework records, and community collaboration.
* Provide on-call support to the shelter as per a recurring schedule amongst staff.
* Maintain a welcoming, and comfortable environment including, and ensuring the building is safe, tidy, and clean.
* Creation and facilitation of in-house group, and individual programming.
* Carrying out transportation services as per the SOFIA House transportation policies, including driving company vehicles.
* Knowledge, and interest in Indigenous advocacy, understanding of colonial practices and TRC mandates.
* Understanding and comfortability of harm reduction philosophies, and addiction support.
* Other duties as required.
