The Manager develops strategies to maintain cooperative and effective labour/management relationships by advising the District Leadership team, School Administrators and managers on the administration of collective agreements in a fair and consistent manner. The Manager of Labour Relations will contribute to the Human Resources department operational plan aligned with the district's strategic plan.<p>Responsibilites: <p><p> Develop labour relations strategies and processes affecting employees of the district <p> Recommend and implement collective agreement interpretations, policies, procedures and programs to create and improve consistent labour relations practice within the district <p> Investigate labour relations issues and complaints, research appropriate relevant case law<p> Strategic management of grievances with sound research preparing the employer's responses in conjunction with other Human Resources staff<p> Work with counsel for arbitration preparation and other hearings<p> Key member of the bargaining process for teacher and support staff collective agreements<p> Effectively conducts misconduct and bullying and harassment investigations<p> Empowers and partners with managers and administrators with conflict resolution, investigations and disciplinary procedures <p> Works cross-departmentally across the school district to address issues and opportunities related to labour relations<p> Contributes to departmental vision, goals and priorities and commitment to meaningful consultation and collaborative decision-making<p> An insightful appreciation of Indigenous cultures, acknowledging their contributions and challenges, and a genuine eagerness to understand the local context<p> Commitment to integrating principles of equity across HR practices<p><p>Education : <p><p> University degree with a specialization in human resources or labour relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
