Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Fabric embroidery shop. Tasks: Repair minor mechanical problems such as broken or defective needles. Set up looms or other processing machines. Notify supervisor or repairers of mechanical malfunctions. Read loom patterns and prepare loom pattern mechanisms for processing. Verify equipment's efficiency. Investigate machine stoppages. Operate looms to weave yarn or thread into textile fabrics or products. Make adjustments to machinery. Operate large automatic multi-needle machines to embroider or to sew lengths of several layers of material. Patrol machines and check fabrics or products for defects and to verify efficient operation. Set up quilting frames for large quilted products. Operate cutting machines to trim edges of quilts. Type of fabric preparation machines: Embroidery. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Sitting.
