Annapolis Valley based Real Estate Developer is currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable /Accounting Position. Based out of Kingston, Nova Scotia, Parsons Investments has been developing properties across Nova Scotia for over 50 years and has built a portfolio of over 700,000 square feet of commercial space and over 350 residential units.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Technician to join our dynamic team at [Real Estate Development Company Name]. As an Accounts Receivable Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations related to government, commercial, and residential properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Experience & Skills Desired
Invoice Generation: Generate and distribute invoices accurately and in a timely manner for government, commercial, and residential properties.
Accounts Receivable Management: Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions, including posting payments, processing refunds, and resolving discrepancies.
Billing Queries: Respond to billing inquiries from clients, tenants, and internal stakeholders promptly and professionally.
Collections: Monitor overdue accounts and implement collection procedures to ensure timely payments.
Financial Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging analysis, and cash flow projections.
Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Cash Application: Apply payments received to appropriate customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies between payments and invoices.
Assist in Audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in accounts receivable processes.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist the accounting team with ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in accounts receivable or related accounting roles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Knowledge of real estate industry practices and regulations is a plus.
