Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Willing to relocate. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform brake adjustments. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Willing to travel for extended periods. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads.
