Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Private practice. Tasks: Examine patients' teeth, gums and surrounding tissue. Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Perform oral surgery, periodontal surgery and other treatments. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Security and safety: Eligible for professional liability insurance. Immunization records. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
