Join our dynamic team at Christina Lake Cannabis. Located just south of Christina Lake, BC, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
· Performing data entry tasks such as posting vendor invoices, processing expense claims, issuing purchase orders, and preparing client invoices.
· Assembling and preparing payment batches on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
· Monitoring and managing the accounting email to ensure timely responses and resolution of inquiries.
· Completing credit applications accurately and efficiently.
· Liaising with customers and vendors as necessary to facilitate smooth transactions.
· Overseeing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections management.
· Assist the Financial Controller with maintaining the integrity of the general ledger by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
· From time to time, assist in certain payroll functions, which includes processing employee compensation, calculating deductions, and ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations.
· Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
· Identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
· Work with CFO and Controller to develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risk.
· Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
· Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
· Stay updated on changes in accounting principles and regulations and ensure timely implementation of relevant updates.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
· CPA designation preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or agricultural industry.
· Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards considered an asset.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Salary Range $60,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience.
