Job Purpose
Using a team nursing approach in collaboration with the client care team the Nurse provides direct client care to clients with various mental disorders utilizing a variety of treatment modalities and therapies and provides oversight and supervision of the care provided to residents of Jubilee House by unregulated support workers. The nurse will monitor behaviours, mental health status and health conditions of residents; assess illnesses and injuries; respond to requests for evaluation from the care team and adjust care plans based on assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide direction and supervision to care home support workers and work directly with clients regarding their physical health, psychosocial rehabilitation and spiritual needs.
* Coordinate the care of residents by delegating duties to support workers.
* Supervises the support staff by assigning work and evaluating performance, providing direction and instruction as needed.
* Develop and implement individual care plans with each client in concert with the community case manager and Jubilee House care team.
* Ensure that the care plan objectives are being followed and that any progress and/or decline in functioning is reported and charted.
* Perform nursing duties, give supportive counseling and participate in all aspects of programming as required.
* Regulate the control of all prescribed medications and the charting of the same.
* Harmonize appointments, follow up on doctor?s recommendations, ensure the information reaches the entire care team, and complete all required paperwork.
* Deal with emergency situations involving client care and wellbeing as they arise and ensure that issues and concerns are addressed.
* Provide ongoing support and consultation to staff as needed.
* Liaise with family members, care team and community agencies.
* Attend regular care team meetings and submit written monthly reports.
* Ensure all aspects of Residential Care Licensing regulations related to client care are being adhered to.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
* Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
* Current registration with BCCMN
Experience:
* Bachelor?s Degree in nursing, or LPN Diploma with extensive experience working within the field of mental health.

* Knowledge of community resources
* Ability to work independently.
* Knowledge of conflict resolution
* Basic computer skills
* Excellent organizational and record keeping skills.
* Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act
* Ability to provide leadership.
Conditions of Employment
* Able to obtain and maintain a Current Criminal Record Check
* Current registration in professional association
* Compliance with Provincial Immunization Program
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.70-$54.28 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
