Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Radiological laboratory. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Explain procedures. Operate X-ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Position patients. Wear radiation detection equipment to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease. Record and process results of procedures. Apply radiation protection measures. Explain procedures and side effects of radiation. Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment. Record and process patient data. Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. Healing arts radiation protection (HARP) Certification.
