Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Retirement home. Tasks: Administer medications. Conduct specimen collection. Ensure infection control. Monitor nutritional intake. Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects . Take vital signs. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Train or assist in the training of other workers. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Provide nursing care. Plan patient care. Perform other duties related to personal care. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate.
