<p>The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra municipal body with jurisdiction over the territory located north of the 55th parallel, is now looking for a self-motivated and dynamic individual interested in joining the KRG to work in the capacity of:</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>IMPLEMENTATION AND FACILITIES SPECIALIST</strong></p><p><strong>TAMAANI INTERNET SERVICES SECTION</strong></p><p><strong>(PERMANENT, FULL-TIME)</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Reporting to the Field Operations Coordinator, the Implementation and Facilities Specialist supports and maintains KRG?s telecommunications networks, which serve in-community authorities, businesses and residences. He also works closely with KRG?s Network Operations and Customer Service groups to assist with the day-to-day operations, and implementation of new services.</p><p></p><ul><li>Install, maintain and repair the following in-community network systems and components according to detailed engineering schematics and industry best practices:</li><ul><li>Fiber distribution network, including:</li><ul><li>Fiber plant core</li><li>Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) distribution</li><li>Fiber to businesses</li></ul><li>Fixed Wireless systems, networks and links (Point-to-Point and Point-to-MultiPoint systems), including:</li><ul><li>Radios</li><li>Antennas</li><li>RF cabling (LDF, RG, LMR) and connectors</li></ul><li>Mobile Wireless systems</li><ul><li>LTE (data-only) distribution</li><li>Wimax NextNet systems</li></ul><li>Fixed Satellite system links</li><li>Ethernet cabling</li></ul><li>Install FTTH networking equipment and related accessories and components such as fiber drops, Ethernet drops, jacks and cabling at the customer?s premises</li><li>Splice fiber lines and install drops to additional customers;</li><li>Install network components such as switches, routers, access points and others under the supervision of the Network Operations group.</li><li>Troubleshoot signal quality problems at customer?s premises (Fiber, Ethernet and other technologies);</li><li>Record discrepancies and report to Network and Field Operations groups;</li><li>Keep an accurate stock record of installed equipment and stocks and issue low stock warning;</li><li>Ensure regular preventative maintenance is done on existing network components;</li><li>Interact with Network Operations Center (NOC) during outages, emergency interventions and reported problems;</li><li>Participate in the evaluation of new technologies and the expansion of network systems;</li><li>Keep site documentation of data and voice networks accurate and up to date and help develop diagnostic procedures;</li><li>Carry out any other tasks requested by the supervisor.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>requirements</strong></p><p></p><ul><li>Possessing a College diploma in a related technology;</li><li>Having a minimum of three (3) years? experience as a telecommunications technician;</li><li>Hold a solid experience working with optical fiber technology installations and/or experience with coaxial cabling;</li><li>Experience working with fiber splicer, OTRD, FTTH PON or GPON, Working knowledge of Calix technologies will be considered an asset;</li><li>Having excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve unforeseen network problems;</li><li>Able to perform work that is physical in nature and under bad weather conditions from time to time (climb ladders, roofs, etc.);</li><li>Able to transfer his knowledge to others and explain technical details to customers in an easy understandable manner;</li><li>Meticulous, structured and being able to work under pressure;</li><li>Have a strong customer service oriented personality.</li><li>Be reliable, autonomous, and possess a great sense of initiative and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to communicate orally and in writing in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, French; working knowledge of Inuktitut is a definite asset;</li><li>Being available to tra- Location Kuujjuaq, QC
