Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Process bills of lading, cargo manifests or other documents. Plan trips. Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two-way radio systems. Ensure safety procedures are followed. Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck. Tow truck. Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. Short-haul.
