Education: Bachelor's degree. Tasks: Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems. Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems. Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs. Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems. Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems. Commission systems and components. Prepare design concepts, sketches or models for approval. Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met. Ensure that systems and equipment are operating efficiently and that proper maintenance and repairs are performed. Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications. Answer inquiries from clients and other company personnel. Computer and technology knowledge: AutoCAD. Autodesk REVIT. MS Word. Area of work experience: Design. Area of specialization: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence.
