Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work site environment: Child welfare. Work setting: Group home. Tasks: Prepare reports or case histories. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise children's visits with parents to ensure their safety. Implement behaviour management programs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Manage knowledge. Offer mentoring. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Work experience with special needs students: Children with an intellectual disability. Experience with special needs children: Children with behavioural issues. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child welfare check. Driver's validity licence check. Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle.
