Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Odours. Dusty. Work setting: Commercial. Residential. Urban area. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Installation specialization: Hardwood strip flooring. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Cork flooring. Carpets/rugs. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement. Organized. Team player.
