Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: General manufacturing. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Repair machine tools and parts. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines.
