Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Chicken farming. Goat farming. Hay farming. Outdoors. Dusty. Hot. Odours. Wet/damp. Livestock. All weather conditions. Dirty. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Develop and guide the behaviour of farm animals. Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses. Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Perform livestock feeding. Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving. Track and report on current feed inventory . Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures. Formulate feeding program. Maintain livestock performance records. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Perform general farm duties. Write daily basic progress reports. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Personal suitability: Organized. Team player. Judgement. Reliability.
