Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Load and off-load machines
  • Operate and feed a variety of machines
  • Set up, maintain and make minor repairs to machinery
  • Push carts, trucks or cans of fibres from one work area to another
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Operate machine or manually fabricate leather products
  • Adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment
  • Adjust rotation and mixing action of vats according to state of pelts
  • Examine products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Prepare solutions to clean, dehair, pickle, oil or tan hides and skins
