Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Outdoors. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Tasks: Install and overhaul heating systems. Install refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Air conditioning and refrigeration systems: Rooftop (self-contained). Heat pump. Built up (split system). Humidification and de-humidification system. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity.
