Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Urban area. Tasks: Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Accept payment or invoices for items delivered. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Prepare, package and restock goods. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Load and unload goods. Sort packages for delivery. Follow directions and read map. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Write daily basic progress reports. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Forklift Operator Certification. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Driver logbook. Transportation/travel experience: Local. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Driver's abstract. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
