Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Install refrigeration systems. Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems. Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation. Troubleshoot heating systems. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Interpret gas codes. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Troubleshoot problems related to equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools.
