Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Supervise and co-ordinate the work of technicians, technologists, survey personnel and other engineers and scientists
  • Determine the appropriate means of safely and efficiently mining deposits
  • Advise on drilling and blasting methods for mining, construction or demolition
  • Design, develop and implement computer applications for mine and supportive structure design and mapping, or for monitoring mine conditions
  • Plan and supervise the development, operation and maintenance of mines
  • Prepare operations and project estimates, schedules and reports
  • Implement and co-ordinate mine safety programs

Supervision

  • 5-10 people

Credentials

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses 

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association
