Working here means you can enjoy: * *World-class skiing and snowboarding* minutes away at Blue Mountain * *Beaches, boating, and Georgian Bay* right at your doorstep * *Hiking, biking, and outdoor adventure* all year long * A vibrant small-town community with *local breweries, cafés, and restaurants* * Short commutes, scenic drives, and a relaxed lifestyle * A perfect balance of *skilled trades work* and *outdoor living* If you?re a mechanic or mechanically inclined tradesperson who loves hands-on work and wants a lifestyle upgrade, Thornbury is an incredible place to build your career. *Position Responsibilities* * Assess workspaces to ensure tasks are completed safely * Read and interpret engineering drawings and component specifications * Assemble and install mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components * Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems with engineering/service support * Perform basic testing to ensure components meet required standards * Communicate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to meet company and regulatory standards * Safely operate cranes, lift trucks, and other material-handling equipment * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives *Preferred Qualifications* * Strong commitment to safety and participation in safety programs * Certificate of Qualification from a recognized apprenticeship or technical program (Mechanic, Millwright, Electrician, Engineering, etc.) * Experience in heavy equipment repair or assembly * Ability to read and interpret blueprints * Strong mechanical aptitude * Ability to perform math calculations at an SSGD level * Experience or certification operating cranes and lift trucks *About Astec Industries / Breaker Technology* We are a long-standing employer in Grey County and part of the global OneASTEC family.
