Job details
*About CFN Construction* CFN is Saskatoon?s premier high-performance custom home builder and renovator, combining Canadian and European building practices with deep building science expertise to create homes that are beautiful, efficient, and durable. We refuse to compromise on how a home is built. We hold ourselves to the highest standards: prioritizing comfort, efficiency, and long-term durability over trends. Details matter, and shortcuts aren?t how we work. *The Role* We?re looking for a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter, or a highly experienced carpenter who has proven themselves across the full scope of residential construction, to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, field-based role where finishing is the priority, but we need someone who can confidently carry a project from structural framing through to quality interior and exterior finishing work. We build it like it?s ours ? because the work we leave behind matters as much as the people we build it for. If that?s how you approach your craft, this is your kind of team. *What You?ll Do* * Perform high-quality finish carpentry including trim, doors, cabinetry installation, and custom millwork details * Execute all phases of residential framing: walls, floors, roofs, stairs, and engineered systems * Work with high-performance building envelope details including air sealing, advanced framing, and energy-efficient systems * Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and construction documents with accuracy and confidence * Install engineered lumber products, beams, prefabricated components, and specialty systems * Collaborate closely with other trades and crew members to maintain project schedules and quality standards * Mentor and support apprentices and less experienced carpenters on site * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times * Adhere to all company policies, provincial building codes, and CFN quality standards *What We?re Looking For* * Journeyperson Carpenter certification (Red Seal or similar trade certificate) is strongly preferred * Minimum 6 years of residential construction experience with demonstrated full-scope carpentry skills * Strong, proven finishing expertise (trim, doors, windows, millwork, and detail work) is non-negotiable * Solid framing skills are non-negotiable * Ability to read blueprints and construction documents with confidence * Comfortable working at heights: roofs, scaffolding, ladders * Able to repeatedly lift and carry heavy materials (100+ lbs) * Own basic hand tools and tool belt * Valid driver?s license and reliable transportation * Strong communicator, collaborative team player, and self-starter * Committed to delivering quality work *Nice to Have* * Custom home building experience * Experience with high-performance, energy-efficient, or Net Zero construction * Knowledge of building science principles and building envelope details * Experience with advanced framing techniques * Familiarity with ENERGY STAR, R-2000, or Built Green standards *Why Join CFN Construction?* * Work on high-quality custom homes and renovations where craftsmanship is valued and visible * Gain hands-on experience in high-performance and Net Zero building techniques * Steady, consistent work with a stable, professional team * Opportunity to grow into leadership or mentorship roles as the company scales * Be part of a team that builds it like it?s ours, because the work we leave behind matters as much as the people we build it for *How to Apply* We?d love to hear from you. Please send your resume along with a short introduction telling us what makes you a great fit for CFN Construction and what you?re hoping to build in your career. Whether you?re looking to take ownership of complex projects, grow your high-performance building knowledge, or be part of a team that holds the bar high, we want to know what drives you.
