Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Offshore drilling rig. Tasks: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Determine weldability of materials.
